Our Story

My name is Julia Abraham, a single mother of two, and the founder of LAF Through the Bible. What began as a Bible club in November 2023 was first born in my heart during a Sunday service in 2021 as an idea centered around Biblical counseling and healing through God’s Word.

That day, Psalms 25:14 lingered deeply in my spirit:

“The Lord confides in those who fear Him; He makes His covenant known to them.”

At the time, my marriage was falling apart, finances were almost nonexistent, and honestly, I could not see how this vision could ever become reality. Like Jonah, I spent much of 2022 and part of 2023 running from the calling God had placed on my life. During those difficult years, I lost so much — family, marriage, joy, and stability. Yet with my two children and my sister beside me, giving up was never truly an option.

Eventually, I came to understand that Matthew 4:4 was not just another Bible verse, but the very remedy my soul desperately needed:

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

With surrender came obedience. A small WhatsApp group was formed, invitations were sent, and LAF Through the Bible officially began. Very quickly, I realized that the vision God had given me was mine to carry whether the audience was large or small. Habakkuk 2:2–3 reminded me to write the vision and remain faithful, trusting that in God’s perfect timing it would come to pass. And Matthew 18:20 assured me that where even two or three gather in His name, He is present.

In the beginning, I had many ambitious plans. I thought we would meet three times a week, then twice a week. Eventually I learned that weekdays were busy, weekends belonged to families, and timing mattered more than I imagined. After much trial and error, we found our sweet spot: Fridays at 9:30 PM — late enough for people to finish supper and settle down for the night.

Even now, our Google Meet sessions are often small. Sometimes there are only three or four people. Most nights, it is simply me and my family. But still, here we are — continuing faithfully, chapter by chapter, verse by verse.

And honestly, I could not be more grateful.

I am so excited to welcome you into the LAF family, but even more than that, I welcome you to walk this journey with us. Through taking in this Bread of Life, stumbling and growing in the Lord’s presence, we have experienced transformation, healing, encouragement, comfort, and hope.

Life is still not perfect, and my vision of building an affordable Biblical counseling and wellness center in my country has not yet fully come to pass. But I hold tightly to Habakkuk 2:3:

“Though it tarries, wait for it; it will surely come.”

As I write this, we are currently studying Psalms 89 together. And for now, this mission is rooted deeply in 2 Corinthians 1:3–4:

“He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.”

That is why I share these notes, reflections, studies, and devotionals from our journey through the Bible. Reading Scripture is not always easy, but together, step by step, we can walk through it.

God’s Word is life. Personally, I have experienced the touch of Jesus through His Word — His comfort, His peace, His encouragement, and His healing presence.

There is a quote that says:

“If you want to walk fast, walk alone. If you want to walk far, walk together.”

So wherever you are in your journey, thank you for being here. I pray that as we walk Through the Bible together, you find peace, healing, encouragement, and a deeper relationship with God.

WELCOME!!
